Responsibilities:
The Mental Health Program Director is responsible for coordination and management in programs that specialize in supporting people with challenging behavioral and mental health needs, either in a residential or non-residential setting. The two priority areas of responsibility include hiring and ensuring orientation and ongoing training of high-quality staff and ensuring all aspects of the program are developed, implemented, coordinated and monitored to the highest degree possible. The Mental Health Program Director should have direct communication and access to the director and all supervisors within the organization.Benefits:• Health• Dental• 401K• PTO

Requirements:
4-year degree is required, preferably in a behavioral science field and 3 years of supervising programs that oversee services for people with behavioral and serious persistent mental health needs or related conditions.• Must have experience in developing person-centered plans and individualized behavior support plans that identify specific proactive and, if necessary, reactive intervention strategies.• Ability to train subordinate staff members on all aspects of a person served, including behavioral, annual, functional analysis and other plans either developed by Mental Health Program Director or by outside supports.• Mental Health Program Director must also posses competency related to behavioral health services in areas related to: ? Effective crisis intervention and treatment plans? Reduction/elimination strategies that promote least restrictive approved techniques.? Data collection, tracking and reporting; demonstrated expertise with populations of mental health and cognitive impairments.? Selecting intervention strategies to achieve desired outcomes.? Ethical considerations related to mental health services.The program director must meet the requirements of a qualified mental retardation professional, based on four-year degree in a related field, experience and abilities. Experience in developing and implementing individual programs, budget implementation and supervising others is desired. Must have good decision-making, time management and communication skills, and be responsible, mature and flexible.
