Responsibilities:
We are currently hiring for full time and part time Direct Support Professional positions to at our locations across the Twin Cities and surrounding areas including Hastings, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Apple Valley, Burnsville, Shakopee, Cambridge, and Forest Lake.With a variety of scheduling options and locations we will work with you to find something that is a match for you!DSP's with Beacon receive on -the-job training and develop leadership skills that will with career advancement withing the organization. Some examples of what Direct Support Professionals may do are:Encourage independent living and coping skills to the people we supportOrganizing social, craft, game, reading, and community activitiesAssist in maintaining a home; preparing meals, grocery shopping, budgeting, and providing transportationAssisting with medications, scheduling medical appointments and encouraging healthy lifestyle choicesGuiding, establishing, and maintaining relationships by role modeling positive interactionsWhy work for Beacon?We are a growing company with opportunities for skill development and career advancement. Requirements:
Qualifications and SkillsInterested applicants should have had some experience supporting individuals with disabilities or mental health diagnosis, and be experienced in using positive interventions and deescalation techniques - or be willing to learn! Staff should have a drivers license and be able to pass Minnesota Department of Human Services Background Study.
