Community Support Specialist (IHS/SILS, Mental Health/Community Counselor)
Overview:
Accord is seeking a Community Support Specialist to work in our community services program. The ideal candidate has a passion for coaching/supporting community members. Responsibilities:
Be an essential employee to the well-being of the people we support. You will work directly with them in their home and community and help them with things like: Set life goals and achieve their dreams. Help find resources that support community living and independence. Plan personal empowerment, life enrichment, and skill building activities. Daily personal cares. Implement person-centered goals. Participate in Annual meetings and the development of SPA Work alongside clientele (supported persons) to identify opportunities in the community for engagement. Document supports using internal EHR System Work closely with fellow Community Support Specialist and Program Manager to share best practices. Manage your own schedule and more!
Requirements:
Experience as a Direct Support Professional-highly beneficial but not required You will need... A passion to make a difference and the desire to learn. The ability to interact with people with disabilities and your team mates in a respectful, positive, and encouraging way. Good communication and time management skills. A valid driver's license and clean driving record. To pass a Department of Human Services background study.
