Fraser is seeking a passionate and committed individual for the role of Tenant Advocate! In this position, you will be responsible for providing support for tenants at our Independent Living Court located in Bloomington, MN. This is a live-in position where you will be working approximately 15 hours per week. The schedule is flexible with consideration for some set times for community events and inspections. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a fun community! Tenant Advocates are paid in kind, Fraser covers the cost of rent in exchange for approximately 15 hours of work per week. Fraser also pays for heat, gas, trash, and water/sewer utilities! Tenant Advocates are responsible for paying a security deposit as well as their own electricity, phone, and cable/internet.
Responsibilities:Respond to questions, concerns, and emergencies of tenants; assist tenants with problem-solvingPlan and facilitate activities with residentsEnsure the security of the buildingEnsure tenants have access keys for the buildingConduct or attend tenant meetings to discuss issues or concerns, and to clarify informationMediate conflicts between tenantsProvide verbal and written coaching sessions with tenants in accordance with established procedures for infractions and as directed by the Property ManagerMaintain records and documentation, including training, timecard, and quality assurance dataRecognize and resolve safety or accessibility problemsConduct building inspections as needed, and notify maintenance of building repairs as requiredMaintain a clean environment throughout all public areas of the building, including bathroomsEnsure snow is removed from all walkways and dumpsters, and apply sand/salt as needed
Requirements:BA/BS in Human Services or related field, preferred. At least six months of experience working with people who have developmental disabilities or related conditions required, with one or more years of experience preferred.Commitment to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion with focus on culturally responsive practice, internal self-awareness and reflectionValid Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable record required.Ability to pass DHS background study.Computer proficiency using Word and Excel with proficiency in keyboarding skills required.Use of clear and understandable written and verbal English.Capacity to work independently and use strong decision-making skills.Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.Ability and willingness to use tools & equipment including snowblowers and shovels.Passion for serving our clients.
