Project and Worker's compensation Coordinator

Overview:
Homeward Bound serves children, adolescents and adults with a variety of disabilities, but we have the unique capacity of meeting the needs of those with the most severe and profound disabilities. Our direct support professionals, nurses, nurse care managers, supervisors and managers work together to provide respectful, dignified personal assistance and support to children and adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the position of the Project and Worker’s Compensation Coordinator is to directly or by delegation provide project coordination and support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and to coordinate Homeward Bound’s Worker’s Compensation program. Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to): • Manages projects, gathers information, meets deadlines, completes assigned executive assistant tasks and achieves assigned outcomes. • Creates and maintains effective, influential and cordial working relationships with all internal and external personnel and agencies, families, neighbors and the general public with whom the position comes into contact. • Maintains a working knowledge of statutes, rules, regulations related to the services HBI provides. • Trains employees on work related injury process. • Handles all work related injuries from start to finish assuring all processes are completed. • Leads the Safety Committee. • Monitors and upkeeps the safety material data sheets. • Completes and posts OSHA logs. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:
This is a full time, hourly position that will work approximately 20 hours as worker’s compensation coordinator and approximately 20 hours as project coordinator per week. Qualifications: 1. 2-4 years related experience or AA degree. 2. Experience in the Developmental Disabilities field preferred. 3. Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills. 4. Excellent interpersonal effectiveness, adaptability, and judgement. 5. Ability to work unsupervised. 6. Ability to juggle several assignments at once under tight time-lines. 7. Must possess a progressive view of consumer services that reflects HBI’s mission, core values and vision.
