Mileage Reimbursement Meal Reimbursement Applicants for In Home Support (Customized Services) positions will provide services to individuals in their own homes. When at a person’s home, staff may assist the individual with things such as meal preparation, home cleanliness, as well as self-care opportunities that maximize independence.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Assists person served (one on one) to achieve a higher level of independence in all areas of their life Support their health and well-being Carry out safety, assist with meal preparations and light housekeeping Assists people with all independent living skills, goal objectives, their work environment out in the community, and other program services Responsible for knowing daily routine of person served, level of independence, and areas of vulnerability Seek and follow the advice and directions of supervisors Work effectively with person served Participate in training and development Present a positive attitude and professionalism Adhere to company policy and procedures including scheduling policies Help people implement goals in a person-centered environment Accept other duties as assigned by Manager Skills: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language. Works well in a team environment. Good relationship building skills to build trust with person served Ability to be present and good observation skills Experience working with small behavioral issues. Good communication skills Excellent communication with stakeholders which may include vendors, family members and team members Ability to advocate Able to cook and prepare fresh healthy meals Detail oriented and able to follow directions Creative in implementing program goals and problem solving We are an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer
Requirements:
Requirements Include: Previous experience working with adults with disabilities preferred. Valid Driver's License required with acceptable driving record. (A few DSP Customized Service positions do not require a driver's license) Must have interpersonal skills including empathy, responsibility, self-control, good judgment, and overall adjustment Dependable and flexible Good verbal and written communication skills Good sense of humor and likes to laugh, kind hearted Able to do some lifting Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Background Check.
